Keti Community Library

Learning beyond the school gates

A modern learning space for the Assela community. Keti Academy believes that education has the power to strengthen not only individual students, but entire communities. The Keti Community Library extends Keti's commitment to learning beyond our school campuses by providing a welcoming and modern learning environment for young people, students, professionals and other members of the Assela community. It is a place to read, study, research, exchange ideas and continue learning.

Why a community library?

A strong school should help create a stronger learning community around it

Keti Academy was established to contribute to educational opportunity in Assela. The Community Library extends that vision to people who may never attend Keti Academy.

The Library is located at MA Building, Assela. It is very close to Keti but has its own separate location. It is not inside a Keti school campus.

Our Library story

Built through friendship and partnership

The Keti Community Library has been strengthened through the generosity, expertise and friendship of people and organizations who believe in expanding access to education.

Partners in the United States have included Newway Global, North Hills Church in South Carolina, and Pointe Church in North Carolina.

One particularly significant contribution came from friends in Greenville, South Carolina: a container carrying nearly 25,000 donated books to Ethiopia. These books became an important foundation for the Library's collection.

The partnership went beyond books. Volunteers worked alongside Keti staff to help organize and set up the Library and provided training that strengthened local capacity to operate and sustain it.

Partnership at Keti is not simply about giving resources. It is about sharing knowledge, building relationships and creating sustainable capacity.
Nearly 25,000 books
One extraordinary gift. Thousands of opportunities to read, learn and discover.
